The Texas men did not swim any dual meets in November, so their record stayed at the 2-0 from their two meets in October, but they dominated the Texas Hall of Fame Invite with huge swims and best times across the board.
One of the top stories out of that meet was Will Modglin‘s American Record swim in the men’s 100 backstroke. He started the meet off with the fastest ever 50 backstroke, touching in 20.00 to lead off the Texas 200 medley relay, nearly becoming the first man under 20 seconds in the race.
He followed that up with a huge 43.26 swim in the 100 back final to take down Luca Urlando‘s former record time of 43.35 from 2022. He moved up to become the 3rd fastest performer in history in the event. Current Texas teammate Hubert Kos leads the all-time rankings at 43.20.
The Texas breaststroke group was also on fire with Nate Germonprez swimming 49.71 in the 100 to lead the country and break 50.00. Texas teammate Campbell McKean has the 2nd fastest time in the country at 50.37.
Will Scholtz broke 1:50 in the 200 breast to swim 1:49.59 to drop more than a second from his previous best and set the top time in the nation this season. Germonprez sits 3rd in 1:49.80
Baylor Nelson had very strong performances in the 200 and 400 IM events to set nation leading times with Texas teammates Modglin (200 IM – 1:40.58) and Cooper Lucas (400 IM 3:35.28) coming in just behind him.
The ASU men stayed in 2nd after sweeping the men’s edition of the CSCAA Dual Meet Tournament to remain undefeated this season and Indiana kept their spot in 3rd.
Cal jumped up two spots to come in 4th after ranking 6th in November and NC State saw a huge jump to move up from 10th to 6th after a very strong showing at the Wolfpack Elite Invite.
The Florida State men also jumped up four places to go from 16th to 12th, now sitting right outside the top 10.
Southern Methodist and Princeton also earned their way onto the top 25 for the first time this season at 20th and 22nd respectively. Virginia moved down nine places from 12th to now rank 21st and sits right in between the two teams.

Where is the love, respect and acknowledgement of the Orange Machine known to the world as the Tennessee MAN Vols? If the Vols do not finish top 7, I will donate a cash award to the TRUMP-kennedy Center in the amount up to $100,000. Write that down!
Cal finishing in the top 4 this year at NCAAs would be the most surprising (top 25/contending team) NCAA team result this decade
I’m expecting the 5-8 range.
I say 4 to 6 with a resounding rebound in 2027.
Cal moving UP in these polls after their lackluster midseason meet was not on my bingo card.
“The greatest recruiting class in NCAA history” yeah right. What a joke. The Desorbo effect is real. #toddcantcoachmen
Hate to agree with Snarky BUT when he is right he is right. (7% of the time may be an overstatement)
