Wisconsin’s Matt Hutchins garnered Big Ten swimmer of the week honors after his performance at the Texas Invite. Hutchins set a new school record in the 1650, clocking a 14:38.14. Matt Barnard earned diver of the week honors once again after sweeping the diving events at the Jean K. Freeman invite.
Blake Pieroni was awarded Big Ten swimmer of the week for his performances against Texas and Florida. Pieroni won 4 individual events, including the 100 free (43.69) and 200 free (1:36.06).
Big Ten swimmer of the week went to Minnesota’s Nick Orf, who won the 200 fly (1:49.77) in Minnesota’s dual meet with the University of Florida.
Michigan sophomore Ian Rainey grabbed double wins, first in the 200 fly and then in the 400 free. That performance earned him Big Ten Swimmer of the Week honors.
