Kendyl Stewart was born to Jason and Shelly Stewart Aug. 17, 1994. Born in Newton, Mass. Stewart was raised a California girl who loved the water. Starting her swimming career at age 7, Stewart grew up training and racing on North Coast Aquatics in San Diego, Calif. Personal and Youth Swimming During her high school years, Stewart competed representing her high school, La Costa Canyon High School in Carlsbad, California. In 2011, Stewart broke the 15-16 National Age Group Record in the 100-yard butterfly, originally held by Katie Hoff, with a time of 52.43. Stewart currently holds the girl's 13-14 100-yard butterfly National Age Group Record as well. College Swimming (Southern California) One of top recruits coming out of high school, Stewart committed to the University of Southern California under the head coach, Dave Salo. At USC, Stewart is earning her undergraduate degree in Biological Sciences with a minor in Spanish. 2012-2013 As a freshman Stewart was a three-time All-American. At the 2013 Women's NCAA Championships, Stewart finished fourth in the 200-yard backstroke with a USC school record of 1:51.28. She was also a member of two sixth-place USC relays, the 200-yard freestyle relay and the 200-yard medley relay. At the 2013 Pac-12 Championships, Stewart set another school record …
