Former Santa Clara Swim Club CEO John Bitter was sentenced to 3 years and 4 months in state prison in March. He still owes SCSC more than $770,000.
Bitter also issued an apology to Santa Clara Swim Club when he appeared in a local court Friday for sentencing, which was pushed to March.
Bitter, who was arraigned in May, will face no more than five years and eight months in prison when he receives his sentence.
USA Swimming is now a defendant in an updated filing of the civil lawsuit against a Stockton, CA swim club over alleged sexual abuse of a 13-year-old.
Bitter was the head coach of the Santa Clara Swim Club until September, when he was terminated on the belief that he had embezzled more than $600,000 from the club.
