Their 200 medley relay opened with a 1:34.99, and then senior Warren Sexson kicked off a huge meet with a new Class A record in the 200 free.

Sexson swam a 1:39.79, taking his own 2015 record down under 1:40. His teammates Tommy Weiss (1:42.40) and Eric Ruzicka (1:43.92) also scored well in the championship final of the 200 free. Weiss later went on to finish 2nd in the 100 fly behind only Paul Sadergaski of Faribault, who swam a 50.04 for the win. Weiss touched at 50.47.

Sexson returned to win the 500 free (4:35.36), taking the event by over six seconds and just nipping his own ‘A’ record.

St. Thomas owned the 200 free relay by over two seconds, getting a quick 20.79 anchor leg from Weiss. Next, in the 100 back, Red Wing senior Hunter Connelly turned in a time of 48.87 to take down the ‘A’ record. Connelly was just .01 behind the all-time Minnesota state record.

To finish up their dominant meet, St. Thomas crushed the ‘A’ record in the 400 free relay with a 3:06.11 that bettered their own record from 2015 by over a full second. 2nd leg Weiss (45.79) and anchor Sexson (46.14) provided key splits for them.
