South Dakota State goes 4-for-4 on Summit League’s weekly awards

ELMHURST, Ill. –South Dakota State’s Ben Bolinske and Emily Campbell were selected as The Summit League’s Swimmers of the Week for their performances Jan. 26-Feb. 1.

MEN’S SWIMMER OF THE WEEK        
Ben Bolinske, South Dakota State
Jr. // Williston, N.D.
Ben Bolinske of South Dakota State earns his first career Summit League Swimmer of the Week award after his performance during a dual meet at the University of North Dakota Jan. 31. Bolinske clocked a season best time of 46.88 in the 100-meter freestyle, second in the meet. He also posted the best time at the dual in the 50-meter freestyle (21.01). Along with those top-two performances, Bolinske also swam the anchor leg of the Jackrabbits’ winning 200-meter freestyle relay team and third-place 400-meter medley relay team.

WOMEN’S SWIMMER OF THE WEEK
Emily Campbell, South Dakota State

Emily Campbell has been named Summit League Swimmer of the Week for the second time this season and the second time of her career. She won two of four events in which she competed Jan. 31 in a dual at the University of North Dakota. She touched the wall first in both the 100-meter breaststroke and 200-meter breaststroke. She also added a pair of top-three finishes in the 200-meter individual medley and the 400-meter medley relay.

Diving release:

ELMHURST, Ill. – South Dakota State’s Connor Florand and Olivia Olesiak were named as The Summit League’s Men’s and Women’s Divers of the Week for their performances Jan. 26-Feb. 1.

MEN’S DIVER OF THE WEEK
Connor Florand, Sound Dakota State

Connor Florand garners Summit League Diver of the Week honors for the fourth time in his career and the second time this season after his performance Jan. 31 against North Dakota. Florand earned season-best marks in both the three-meter and one-meter dives. He registered scores of 334.13 (3m) and 296.33 (1m) to sweep the men’s diving events.

Also nominated: Doug Ogilvie, Western Illinois.

WOMEN’S DIVER OF THE WEEK
Olivia Olesiak, South Dakota State

Olesiak earns her first Summit League Diver of the Week award of the season and the third of her career after her dives against the University of North Dakota Jan. 31. Olesiak posted season-best scores in both heights in the process of sweeping the diving events. She scored 252.23 in the three-meter and 249.30 in the one-meter, both top-ten marks in The Summit League this season.
