KIRKSVILLE, Mo. – Saint Louis won seven events in both women’s and men’s competition Friday on its way to posting a pair of dual-meet victories over Truman State.

The Billiken women registered a 279.5-129.5 win, while the Billiken men prevailed 148-56.

Emily Leonard captured the 500 free (5:03.14) and 1000 free (10:26.98) and anchored the victorious 400 free relay team (3:34.57) that also included Sophie KishishElena Escalante and Carly McKeon. McKeon touched first in the 200 free (1:57.64).

Meggie McPherson was a double winner, topping the field in the 100 back (59.35) and swimming the leadoff leg for the winning 400 medley relay team (4:00.90) that also included Kenna CashmanLauren Payton and Amelia CarlsonMaryBeth Clark outpaced the competition in the 100 fly (59.17).

Jeddrick Gamilla led the SLU men, winning the 100 breast (58.05) and joining Ethan HighleyMichael Romero and Jack Redden in capturing the 400 medley relay (3:31.77).

Also winning for the Billikens were Jack Locke in the 1000 free (9:53.21), Preston Waldusky in the 400 IM (4:10.93), Joe Feder in the 100 free (48.65), Alex Daw in the 100 back (53.00) and Teddy Ament in the 500 free (4:45.15).

KIRKSVILLE, Mo. – The Truman Swimming teams kicked off their 2022-23 season by hosting Division I Saint Louis University on Friday at the Pershing Natatorium. The women lost 279.5 to 129.5 while the men were defeated 148-56. Both teams will quickly turnaround and be back in action on Saturday at William Jewell (Mo.).

Freshman Adelaide Reaser posted the fastest times to date in Division II when she won the 400IM event. Reaser swam 4:26.53 to earn the first of her two NCAA B-cut times during the meet. She placed second in the 500 free with a time of 5:03.90.

Sophomore Emily Traube took first in a pair of events. She won the 50 free with a time of 24.75 and the 100 free in 53.59.

Freshman Chloe Myers was the race winner in the 100 breast with a time of 1:07.38.

On the men’s side, junior AJ Kohler picked up a pair of wins. He won the 200 free with a time of 1:42.89 and the 100 fly in 51.13.

Senior Jacob Pocivasek was the winner in the 50 free with a sprint time of 21.14 then led off the 100 free relay with a mark of 46.81.

The men’s 400 free relay of Pocivasek, seniors Jaxson MahlstadtGrant Lair and Kohler won the event with a time of 3:10.15.
