BOISE, ID – Seattle U men’s swimming took 1st place at the three-day Northwest Collegiate Invitational over the weekend, posting a team score of 2,086.50, while the women’s team took 3rd in an eight-team field with a score of 961.50. The Redhawks also combined for 26 new entries in the program’s top 10 record book.

FRIDAY
The Redhawks started the event with a bang, setting eight new entries in the top 10.
Ailidh Carroll moved into 9th all-time with a 24.04 finish in the 50 Freestyle, taking 9th in the event. The 200 Freestyle Relay team of Mia David, Amanda Miller, Ailidh Carroll, and Samantha Cazares etched their names into 3rd in the record book with a finish of 1:34.14. They finished just a second behind Pepperdine for the win while just beating out Idaho and Cal State Bakersfield.
Hawkins Wendt jumped to 2nd in the 50 Freestyle when he posted a time of 19.94 as the lead on the 200 Freestyle Relay team that took first in the event. Hennig Colsman and Jamie Crawford also made moves in the 50 Free top 10, moving into 5th (20.28) and 7th (20.34) respectively.
Brendan Ryan continued his strong season when his 1st place finish in the 200 Individual Medley at 1:49.24 moved him into 3rd in the top 10.
Both the 200 Freestyle Relay and 400 Medley Relay teams made new entries on the day. Hawkins Wendt, Jamie Carwford, Hennig Colsman, and Danielis Kvederis took 1st in the 200 while setting the 2nd fastest time in school history at 1:20.15. Mathias Synnott, Brendan Ryan, Danielis Kvederis, and Hennig Colsman had a 2nd place finish in the 400 at 3.17.71 and a 5th place entry in the record book.

SATURDAY
The women’s team led the way with six new top 10 times on day two of the event, while the men’s team was right behind them with five.
Samantha Cazares, Delaney Johns, Amanda Miller, and Mia David took 5th in the 200 Medley Relay with a finish of 1:44.90, which placed them 9th in the program record book.
Miller (55.46) and Cazares (56.39, Prem) would go on to have the 3rd and 8th fastest times in school history in the 100 Butterfly. Johns had the 7th fastest time in the 100 Breaststroke at 1:04.75 (Prem), while Kya Lathangue (57.26) and Molly Magnuson (57.49) both entered the top 10 in the 100 Backstroke at 4th and 6th.
The men’s 200 Medley Relay team also made a new top 10 entry, with Danielis Kvederis, Owen Collins, Ryan Cesmat, and Hawkins Wendt combining to 2nd fastest time at 1.28:02.
Nathan Headon-Weeks recorded the 3rd fastest time in program history in the 100 Individual Relay at 51.80. Ryan’s prelims time of 3:58.66 in the 400 Individual Medley was good for a 4th place entry. Both Owen Collins (55.11) and Morgan Robinson (55.97) made new entries in the 100 Breaststroke at 6th and 9th.
SUNDAY
The final day began with two new entries in the women’s 200 Backstroke, as Kaya Lathangue (2:04.35) and Molly Magnuson (2:04.94, Prelim) moved into 5th and 7th. Delaney Johns wrapped up the women’s top 10 times with a 7th place entry in the 200 Breaststroke at 2:20.65.
The men had three new top 10 times in the 100 Freestyle with Jamie Crawford (44.64), Hawkins Wendt (44.67), and Hennig Colsman (44.83) taking 6th-8th. Morgan Robinson concluded the Redhawks stellar outing in Boise with the 10th fastest time in the 200 Breaststroke at 2:02.76.

BOISE, Idaho – The Alaska Nanooks swimming team officially concluded the Northwest Collegiate Invite on Sunday, placing fifth as a team with 754 points. The Nanooks posted 63 season bests, 22 personal bests, 10 top-10 program performances and two NCAA B Cuts during the three days of competition.
The ‘Nooks had three swimmers in the 200-yard backstroke finals, with McKenzie Fazio and Charisma Watkins competing in the C Final and Mariia Sirotinskaia swimming in the D Final. Fazio placed 19th in her race after posting a 2:07.06 in the finals, while Watkins placed 22nd with a 2:12.13. Sirotinskaia finished in 2:17.91 in her heat, placing 26th.
Janci Pangburn finished 14th in the 100-yard freestyle, touching the wall in 52.86 in her B Final heat. Ali Pecore and Fazio finished their C Final in 52:93 and 52:99, respectively, to take 19th and 21st. Talia Wentz led the way in her D Final heat with a 53:23 and placed 25th.
Dorka Dancsok recorded another podium result when she took second in the 200-yard breaststroke, nearly grabbing the win for the ‘Nooks. Her 2:18.81 was 0.68 seconds off of first place and secured another B Cut on the weekend. Macy Ahrens (2:27.70) took 15th and Sariah Rodgers (2:39.23) placed 26th.
Cosima Schmiedel matched Dancsok’s finish with her own second-place result in the 200-yard butterfly, finishing in 2:07.88. Giorgia Merlo led her B Final heat with a 2:10.13 to secure ninth place, and MacKenzie O’Keefe (2:28.15) and Kaidence Sampsel (2:33.01) placed 25th and 26th.
Alaska finished seventh and 12th in the 400-yard freestyle relay, with the team of Fazio, Dancsok, Pangburn and Pecore swimming to a time of 3:34.37 to place seventh. In the 1650-yard freestyle, Kitti Marton led the way for the ‘Nooks, finishing eighth with a 17:46.40. Ahrens (17th, 18:22.02), Guielsie Borbon (19th, 18:39.39) and Sirotinskaia (20th, 18:46.64) rounded out the event for the Nanooks.
Alaska returns to the pool on Dec. 15 for the UNLV Invitational. The three-day invite will be their final meet of 2025.

BOISE, Idaho – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Vaqueros swimming & diving program finished the fall strong at the NW Collegiate Invite, hosted by Idaho, earning three individual top eight finishes and breaking three school records, Sunday at the Idaho Central Aquatics Center.
Freshman Sarah Bull shined finals session, earning fifth in the 200 backstroke (2:03.52) and 200 butterfly (2:09.56), a UTRGV-high for any individual event at the NW Collegiate Invite. Bull’s time in the 200 butterfly set a new school record for the event.
Sophomore Annaleagh Stahl also competed well in the 200 backstroke, earning eighth with a time of 2:06.12. Meanwhile, freshmen Sasapin Sarawas (2:11.51) and Marina Johnson (2:17.43) finished 21st and 24th, respectively. Sophomore Lauren Uribe (2:35.50) claimed 28th to round out the event for the Vaqueros.
Freshman Dia Henderson led the way for UTRGV in the 100 freestyle, earning 13th after clocking in at 52.67.
In the 200 breaststroke, freshman Jaydy Jay bested her time in the prelims to capture 13th with a 2:24.87. Meanwhile freshman Ava Light (2:35.58), Johnson (2:43.35), sophomore Diara Aleman (2:45.20), and Uribe (3:05.94) finished 25th, 27th, 28th, and 30th, respectively.
Junior Olivia Votava and Stahl competed well in the 200 butterfly, earning 16th and 18th place, respectively. Meanwhile, freshman Ellinor Plant and junior Chloe Siegrist claimed 23rd and 24th, respectively to wrap up the final session for the Vaqueros.
In the 1650 freestyle, Plant finished in 18:10.38 to claim 15th. Meanwhile, Siegrist (18:48.56) and Votava (18:59.20) finished in 21st and 22nd, respectively, while junior AJ Rogers placed 27th after swimming 19:27.59 to round out the event for the Vaqueros.
To finish the preliminary round, the Vaqueros competed in the 400 freestyle relay where the team of Rudelius, Bull, Stahl, and Henderson broke the school record after clocking in at 3:26.02 to finish eighth. Meanwhile, the team of Votava, Lofgren, Sarawas, and Jay claimed 14th after finishing in 3:41.88.
Looking Back at the Prelims
Stahl (2:03.56) and Bull (2:04.00) set the tone early for the Vaqueros as both earned spots in the 200 backstroke “A” final after finishing in 5th and 7th, respectively.
Henderson continued her record-breaking streak in the 100 freestyle, shattering the previous school record by more than a second, clocking in at 52.35 to earn ninth and clinch a spot in the “B” final.
In the 200 breaststroke, Jay finished a team-high 13th place after swimming a 2:25.43 to earn a spot in the “B” final.
The Vaqueros shined in the 200 butterfly as Bull earned her second “A” final of the and broke the school record with a 2:10.73 to finish eighth. Meanwhile, Rudelius (2:13.04) and Votava (2:13.54) finished within 0.5 seconds of each other to earn 15th and 17th, respectively. Stahl (2:16.22) and freshman Plant (2:19.37) finished 21st and 25th, respectively, to earn a team-high five top 25 individual finishes in one event.
