Ellie Shorten, a current high school senior from Agoura Hills, California, has committed to swim for Division I San Jose State University. Shorten will graduate from Agoura High School in spring 2021 join the Spartans’ class of 2025.
Shorten currently swims for Class Aquatics where she is a Sectionals qualifier. At the 2019 California CIF Southern – Division 2 Section Championship, she placed 4th in the 100 freestyle (52.44) and 6th in the 200 freestyle (1:52.89).

At the 2020 Mountain West Conference Championships with the Spartans, Shorten would have placed 22nd in the 200 freestyle with her current best time of 1:52.62.
At the MW Championships, San Jose placed 9th as a team and were given Scholar All-American status for the 14th consecutive semester. Additionally, four team members were given All-MW honors.
