Ryan Lochte, Haley Anderson Show Off Closing Ceremony Attire

Head-to-toe in red, white and blue is how Team USA’s attire for the 2016 Olympic Games Closing Ceremony can be described after viewers of the Today show caught a sneak peek this morning.

Swimmers, Ryan Lochte and Haley Anderson, appeared on the Today show to model the clean and classic-looking outfits, along with wrestler Jordan Burroughs. The outfit includes American colors through and through, starting with the American spin on the traditional boat shoe, a look show hosts call “beachy chic.”

The entire look is designed by Polo Ralph Lauren and every part of the uniforms were made in the United States. Take a look at the complete design in the quick Twitter video below, as well as Ryan Lochte’s tweeted picture.

You can watch the entire Today show segment here, including when Lochte jokes about how he’ll look wearing (hopefully) all his medals while walking in the Closing Ceremony.

I’m not sure if Lochte is too relaxed. Based on his Instagram, he’s been going at it the past few months.

As much as I like him as an athlete, does anyone else think Lochte is going into trials a little too relaxed? I think the 2 im is the only event where he might be considered a shoe-in. Even then, his 1:55 high from last summer is still within reach of guys like Licon or Prenot or Nolan if they have the swims of their lives.

What makes you say too relaxed? I don’t get it.

Well, for starters, he is claiming to not be fully tapering for trials. Second, I think wearing the clothing for the closing ceremonies might be a little premature since no one has qualified yet

You are right, the OL slate has yet to be written. With swimming as a big TV draw for the Olympics – Commercially they needed a swimmer to help with the promotion. My guess is RL was the most storied still swimming Olympian who was closest to the photo shoot site.

I agree with that. I’m a big Lochte fan, and I think he and Marsh know what they are doing going into Trials. That written, I do see this as weird and bad karma stuff to pose in the Olympic outfits before the formality of making a team. They picked the women’s basketball team yesterday and it wouldn’t be weird to have Briana Stewart posing or a men’s golfer since it will be Speith.

I don’t think geography was an issue. Maybe Nathan Adrian was just too busy lifting cars out of the Houston floods bare handed or flying around the world really fast to alter time to undo earthquakes. He eats the GWG brand healthy snacks which are… Read more »

lochte is one of the greatest swimmers ever in my book – LC and SC all combined . he knows what he is doing with Coach Marsh – thats certain . He might step up for the 400 IM – 200 IM and the 200 free – thats enough

Nolan would need to have the swim of his life. Is it possible for a post grad to go from 2:00 all the way down to 1:55.75 in one season? Licon and Prenot might have a better chance, but Lochte, mentally, has them in his pocket.

The RL Polo logo will be visible to the naked eye from Argentina. I realize there is a lot of commercialism in the Olympics now, but the logo size is gharish an in very poor taste. These athletes are representing the country, not an apparel brand.
