The penultimate session of the 2026 Aquatics GB Championships saw the junior and ‘B’ finals take place for the men’s 50 fly, women’s 100 breast, men’s 200 back, women’s 50 free, and men’s 200 free.
The junior final of the men’s 50 fly saw Aran Bisset take the win by the narrowest of margins, hacking four tenths from his PB from this morning to win in 24.16. Ryan Hardy and Joshua Shepherd were just behind in 24.20 and 24.21 respectively.
Patrick Przyczyna moved up to become the third-fastest 15-year-old in British history after setting a new best of 24.48, just 0.26 seconds off Dean Fearn‘s age group record.
Cal’s Jack Brown won the ‘B’ final in 24.02, just off the 23.95 he swam at this meet last year.
Jasmine Carter won the women’s junior 100 breast in a season best time of 1:10.47, just under two seconds off the 1:08.53 she swam at this meet a year ago. Charlotte Bianchi got the better of Amelia Riggott in the ‘B’ final, 1:09.81 to 1:10.47.
Dean Fearn won the 200 back junior final in 2:00.47, closing in a rapid 29.64 to set a new lifetime best, while Austyn Manley broke Luke Greenbank‘s age group record for 15-year-olds in 2:01.37, just missing the European Junior Championships consideration time of 2:01.20.
Meghan Higgs swam a new lifetime best of 25.51 to win the junior final of the women’s 50 free, while fellow Mount Kelly swimmer Erin Little won the ‘B’ final in 25.63.
Samuel Sutcliffe went out hard in the men’s 200 free junior final but held on to break 1:50 for the first time, clocking 1:49.73. He split 52.64/57.09 to take the win over a duo of 1:50-point swimmers in Llewellyn Porter (1:50.87) and Harry Milne (1:50.97).
Jacob Mills shaved 0.04 seconds off his newly-set 200 free best to win the ‘B’ final in 1:48.32, beating Wycombe’s Maxwell Adams by 0.30 seconds. Adams came into the day with a lifetime best of 1:50.84, which he has now lowered by more than two seconds.
