LEWISBURG, Pa. – Binghamton was swept by Bucknell in a swimming & diving dual meet on Saturday afternoon at Kinney Natatorium. The Bison won the men’s meet 172.5-127.5 and were victorious in the women’s meet 174-121.

Freshman Ryan Cohn and sophomore Sophia Howard swept the men’s and women’s diving events respectively for the Bearcats. Cohn took top honors in the men’s one- and three-meter events (287.1) and 274.88) while Howard did the same on the women’s side (255.3 and 240.38).

Elsewhere on the men’s side, freshman Matthew Palguta won the 1000 free (9:53.02), sophomore Ryan Board captured the 100 breast (57.92) and senior Ross Bernstein was first in the 200 fly (1:54.09).

Sophomore Chris Egan was second to Cohn in both diving events with scores of 275.18 and 268.80 respectively.

The other Bearcat women’s individual winner was senior Olivia Santos in the 50 free (24.76).

“Bucknell is a very good team and we learned a lot about ourselves swimming them this early in the season,” head coach Jerry Cummiskey said. “We had a lot of solid swims but there were a lot of close races that we didn’t win so that’s something we’ll get better on moving forward. Winning all four diving events was huge for us though.”

Binghamton is off until Nov. 9 when it host Canisius at 1 p.m.

NOTE: Bucknell’s men’s and women’s teams were both third out of 10 team at last year’s Patriot League Championships.
