After the US Open in Austin, SwimSwam paid a visit to Nitro Swimming (Cedar Park) to see how they were getting ready for the upcoming Speedo Winter Junior Championships, also in Austin.
National Group Coach Charlie McCanless ran the group of 9 athletes through turn work, a bit of aerobic maintenance, and finished with some resisted work with sox and banded starts.

The downfall of Nitro must be studied
what happened ?
Age Group dominates this program
As it should, because that’s where your year-round 15-18’s come from.
Owner is a control freak who won’t let coaches coach.
Maybe the coaches don’t know how to coacj
Then hire better coaches, but you gotta pay for that.
Starts with chords is an interesting concept
Sounds like an injury waiting to happen to me.
What did I just watch?
