Hosted by Coleman HodgesGarrett McCaffrey, and Gold Medal Mel Stewart, SwimSwam welcomes both the biggest names in swimming that you already know, and rising stars that you need to get to know, as we break down the past, present, and future of aquatic sports.

We sat down with NCAA champion and Texas Swimming Alum, JT Larson. Larson, who just started a new job at Dell in Austin, Texas, is a 4-year graduate of the Eddie Reese distance squad, slugging it out with the likes of Clark Smith, Jack Collins, and more on a daily basis and even etching his name into the ranks of All-Americans for the Longhorns. Larson shares his experience in Austin, from the team culture to a look into daily practices and who was ahead of the pack majority of the time.

One of the best episodes by far. Always love these inside looks into perhaps one of the best training groups in history

Also that whole segment about Jake Foster being the hardest worker in the pool makes complete sense to me. Throughout his entire career he’s been overshadowed by his younger brother. Glad to see that Jake is using that to fire him up and train hard and I can’t wait to see it pay off for him in a big way.

Absolutely. How often do we see two siblings at an elite level who swim the same events (more or less)? Could you imagine if 2024 they’re both in the 4IM? Or maybe both on the 800FR relay? Maybe not likely but it would be pretty cool.

The Litherland triplets come to mind. And for that matter, JT Larson and Peter Larson have some event overlap.

Not really related, but Texas football needs Eddie Reese on the sidelines. What happened this weekend?

This weekend and the last 10-15 years! Just proves money can’t buy good football teams!

Not at all with you at all on that. UT has had several good teams in the last 10-15 years.

Been on deck for a few UT practices. It’s all culture. It’s all culture (leading to lots of hard work).

Seems like a classy guy. I love it when people are big enough to give credit to their fiercest rivals like he does to some of the Cal guys.

Monday morning and already another Texas men’s swimming video/article? Shocker

Any chance we can get some Cal or NC State or Virginia videos or articles?

Or any other Top 20 programs?

This is beyond monotonous and boring.

There have been numerous pieces on the Cal guys, and deservedly so.

SwimSwam is located in Austin. Makes sense to have the majority of their articles based off of UT.

Convenience, quality, THE best programs in the country (college, clubs, take your pick) and I’m sure many other factors.
