Nate Stoffle from Lilburn, Georgia has announced his verbal commitment to Auburn University for 2021-22. His brother Aidan Stoffle is a freshman on the Tigers’ men’s team this year. Nate wrote on social media:
“I am thrilled to announce my verbal commitment to continue my athletic and academic career at Auburn University!!! I want to thank my coaches, friends, and family for helping me achieve this goal for myself! As soon as I got on campus I knew I didn’t want to leave. Can’t wait to be an Auburn Tiger!! WAR DAMN EAGLE🦅🦅🔸🔹🔸🔹”
Stoffle is a junior at Brookwood High School in Snellville. He specializes in back, fly and free and IM. He was runner-up in the 50 free (21.04) and came in 4th in the 100 back (50.11) at the 2019 GHSA 7A State Championships last February. He also led off the state-champion 200 medley relay (23.89) and runner-up 200 free relay (20.95). As a freshman he placed 5th in the 100 back (50.98), 7th in the 200 IM (1:54.78), and contributed legs (20.84/47.35) to the winning 200 free and 400 free relays.
Stoffle swims club with Summit Swimming. He is a Summer Nationals qualifier in the 100 back, a Summer Juniors qualifier in the 100 back, and a Winter Juniors qualifier in the 50 free. This summer he improved his lifetime bests in the 50 free (24.11), 100 back (56.67), 100 breast (1:08.93), and 100 fly (59.59) at Georgia LSC Senior Long Course State Championships. He competed at NCSA Spring Championship last March, finishing 8th in the 50 back, 8th in the 100 back, 12th in the 200 back, and 13th in the 50 free. He earned PBs in the 50/200 free and 200 IM at the meet.
