Minnesota Gets 2 International Commitments from Yudashkin, Sates

The Minnesota men have picked up a pair of international recruits, as Eitan Yudashkin and Tim Sates have committed to join the Golden Gophers next season. Yudashkin will be making the move to Minnesota from Israel, while Sates makes the move from South Africa. Neither of the two swimmers have any yards experience yet, but they’ve shown their potential with their fast short course meters and long course meters swims.

Yudaskin is a 14-time Israeli National Age Group champion in the breaststroke events. He recently represented his country at the 2016 European Championships this past summer. His best times in the long course breaststrokes are a 1:03.67 in the 100 breast and a 2:14.86 in the 200 breast, both of which were done at the 2016 Israel Swimming Cup. He also races to a 51.91 in the 100 meter free at that meet.

Yudashkin’s Top Times:

  • 100 LCM breast- 1:03.67
  • 200 LCM breast- 2:14.86
  • 50 LCM free- 23.89
  • 100 LCM free- 51.91

Sates is primarily a freestyler, with his best events ranging from the 50 free to the 400 free. He’s represented South Africa internationally on multiple occasions, most recently at the Mare Nostrum series last season. Sates has been selected to swim for South Africa again this December, having been named to the roster for the 2016 All-Africa Games.

Sates’ Top Times:

  • 50 LCM free- 24.78
  • 100 LCM free- 52.76
  • 200 LCM free- 1:53.12
  • 400 LCM free- 4:01.15
