Luca Urlando broke his own NCAA, American, and US Open records posting a 1:36.41 in the 200 butterfly in his home pool. He broke his previous record of a 1:36.43 that he swam in March at the 2025 NCAA Championships.

Urlando was out slower tonight on his first 50 and held the same on the 2nd 50. The biggest place he was able to get under his previous record was on the final 50 when he was 0.31 seconds today.

With his time tonight, Urlando now holds the top five 200 fly performances all-time. All five swims have come in the 2025 calendar year. Urlando has suffered from shoulder issues in the past but has soared to new heights since his return.
