Kingwood girls win district 12-6A title in Texas High School swimming

Coming off a 2014 season that saw them finish just 12 points away from a state title, the girls of Humble Kingwood High School were dominant in their first step back to the state championships.

Swimming in district 12 of the newly-formed class 6A, the Kingwood girls topped College Park and The Woodlands for the district title. The Woodlands won the boys meet with College Park again second.

Full results are not available, but Houston’s The Courier newspaper covered some of the top finishers here.

Included in that story is Cole Pollina, who won the 50 and 100 frees for the Woodland boys, and Dorothy Halmy, who won the 200 and 500 frees for the runner-up College Park girls.

High school postseason action continues with region meets, followed by the state championships February 20-21 in Austin.
