Katharine Berkoff After 26.98 50 Back: “I’ve learned a lot about myself mentally this year”

2026 Pro Swim Series – Indianapolis

Video captured by Anya Pelshaw.

Katharine Berkoff had a very strong showing at the Pro Swim in Indianapolis this weekend, firing off a 26.98 50 Back to take the win and set a new Pro Swim Series record. That time was also just .01 away from her own American Record and .12 off the World Record, held by Australia’s Kaylee McKeown.

After the race, Berkoff said she’s learned a lot about herself mentally this year, specifically that calming herself down, rather than hyping herself up, has led to more consistent times in practices and meets.
