Villanova, Pennsylvania’s Kaitlin Perni has given her verbal commitment to Drexel University for 2016-17, joining Alexa Kutch as a future Dragon. Perni is a senior at Academy of Notre Dame de Namur and member of the Suburban Seahawks Club National Team.

“I am so excited to announce my commitment to Drexel University. Everything about the school and team made me feel right at home and I knew this is was the place for me.”

Perni is a finalist from the Easterns Interscholastic Championships as well as the East Coast Catholic Championships. She currently holds three school records at the Academy of Notre Dame and was a member of the fifth-place 400 freestyle relay at the 2014 NCSA Junior National Championships. Her best times from the last two seasons are:

  SCY LCM
50 free 23.99 27.22
100 free 52.48 59.79
200 free 1:54.41
200 IM 2:08.88 2:28.06
400 IM 4:35.59 5:14.24

Perni is already close to scoring at the Colonial Athletics Association conference championships in the 50 free, 100 free, 200 IM, and 400 IM. The CAA only invites the top 16 back to finals, making it a bit more difficult to contribute significantly as a freshman.
