USA Diving Junior National Championship finalist Kayla Wilson has signed a National Letter of Intent to join the Louisville Cardinals in the fall of 2020.
Wilson is a springboard specialist (she has no divemeets.com records for platform events since 2016), and at the most recent USA Diving Junior National Championships in August, she finished 12th on the 3-meter in the 16-18 age group.
Wilson, a senior at Flower Mound High School, finished 3rd at the recent Texas 6A Region 2 Championships on the 1-meter. That is good enough to earn her a return trip to the Texas 6A (big schools) High School State Championship meet, where last year she finished 5th in the same discipline.
This is another big diving addition to the ACC: a conference where Miami, Florida State, and Duke have long dominated on the boards, but where programs like Virginia, NC State, and Louisville, with national team aspirations, have put more focus in the last few years.
Louisville scored 119 points in women’s diving at last year’s ACC Championship meet. That ranked them 5th-best in the conference.
