Josh Schneider to Participate in José Cerdá Memorial Swim Clinic

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – U.S Swimming National Teamer and Cincinnati native Josh Schneider will take part in the fifth annual José Cerdá Memorial Swim Clinic at the Mason Community Center beginning at 9 a.m. Sunday in Cincinnati, Ohio.

The José Cerdá Memorial Swim Clinic is held each year in memory of José Cerdá who passed away on his 18th birthday during swim practice with the Cincinnati Marlins in 2010. The clinic is designed to help pre-college swimmers reach the next level of competition in a combined setting of water instruction and classroom presentations. One-hundred swimmers from the Cincinnati area will participate.

“This is a great opportunity to give back to a community that has done so much for me,” said Schneider, a gold medalist at the 2015 Pan American Games. “I hope through this clinic I can help these kids become one step closer to achieving their goals.”

During Schneider’s appearance he will assist in instructing swimmers, sign autographs, take photos and answer questions. For more information visit www.jcafoundation.org.

Schneider will be joined by former Olympic Coach Eddie Reese and 2004 Olympian Scott Usher to assist with instruction at the clinic.

The event will be open to the media.

Schneider’s appearance is part of USA Swimming’s Athlete Partnership Program. The program is a platform for National Team swimmers to encourage kids and adults to take up the sport as a healthy and positive activity. These appearances directly promote the sport and the healthy lifestyle it represents. To find more information about how to get started in the sport, visit SwimToday.org.
