Johannes Liebmann Leads All Swimmers with €6,000 in Prize Money at Swim Open Stockholm

2026 MALMSTEN SWIM OPEN STOCKHOLM

The 2026 Swim Open Stockholm is in the books, with swimmers from across the club erupting for both sprint revelations (Brooks Curry) and distance revelations (Johannes Liebmann).

Organizers awarded a total of €44,100 in prize money at the meet.

The best men’s performance of the meet was Johannes Liebmann‘s 14:39.67 in the 1500 free (and not his head-turning 8:37 in the 800 free). Those swims garnered 969 and 962 points, respectively, on AQUA’s World Record-indexed scale.

Siobhan Haughey‘s 939-point 52.79 in the 100 free was the top performance on the women’s side.

World athletics has decades of a head start and they have bigger stadiums (more spectators), but I wonder if World aquatics can come up with something similar to the Diamond League to make more money, viewability and recognition for swimmers.
