Position: Operations Manager

reports directly to the Executive Director

Compensation: $60,000 to $65,000 annually

Benefits:  403b, paid vacation and gratis programming

Introduction

This full-time position is located at the Sonner Aquatic Facility, 1013 Jones Franklin Road, Raleigh, North Carolina. The position requires an average of forty (40) hours per week.  Weekend and evening hours are expected for meets and  special events.

Primary Duties

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Developing the model for Wahoo Swim Academy with the Executive Director;
  • Developing the model for the swim team introductory groups with the Head Coach, Head Age Group Coach and the Executive Director;
  • Supervising the Wahoo Swim Academy staff;
  • Supervising the introductory swim team groups staff;
  • Monitoring credentials for the introductory swim team groups staff;
  • Conducting monthly in-service training for Wahoo Swim Academy staff;
  • Creating Wahoo Swim Academy programming in coordination with the Lesson Coordinator;
  • Creating Wahoo Swim Academy staffing schedules with the Lesson Coordinator;
  • Interacting with parents and guardians of WSA’s participants and RSA’s athletes in person, by phone and by electronic communication;
  • Resolving customer service issues for Wahoo Swim Academy;
  • Creating the staffing schedule for introductory swim team groups;
  • Creating weekly practice schedules with the Head Coach, Head Age Group Coach and the Executive Director;
  • Conducting weekly meetings with designated coaches;
  • Monitoring and approving payroll for Wahoo Swim Academy and introductory swim team staff;
  • Managing office supplies with the Executive Director;
  • Conducting evaluations for introductory swim team groups;
  • Coordinating the hiring process for Wahoo Swim Academy with the Executive Director;
  • Coordinating and creating block parties and mock meets with the Head Age Group Coach;
  • Ensuring preparation and dissemination of athlete progress reports for introductory groups;
  • Ensuring preparation and dissemination of participant progress reports for WSA participants;
  • Ensuring preparation and dissemination of report cards for introductory groups;
  • Coordinating move-ups for introductory swim team groups with the lead coaches and the Head Age Group Coach;
  • Enforcing swim team and facility policies;
  • Assisting the swim team recruiting staff with summer league clinics;
  • Assisting the swim team recruiting staff with TSA championship meets;
  • Assisting in fundraising;
  • Participating in agreed-upon activities; and
  • Assisting the Executive Director or Board of Directors as needed.

Required Skill Set:

  • Five years of aquatic programming experience
  • Two years of management experience
  • USA Swimming Coach credentials in good standing
  • Current American Red Cross professional lifeguard certification (required by start date)

Preferred Skill Set

  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Familiarity with TeamUnify/SportsEngine/GoMotion systems
  • Familiarity with Word
  • Familiarity with Excel
  • Attention to detail

Education Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher preferred
