Fontana Aquatics Club (FAC) is a competitive USA Swimming club based in Fontana, California. Our mission is to build the premier developmental and high-performance swim program in Southern California by providing exceptional coaching, fostering a positive team culture, and helping every swimmer reach their full potential.
FAC offers a comprehensive pathway for athletes of all levels—from beginner competitive swimmers taking their first strokes in the sport to nationally ranked athletes pursuing collegiate and international competition.
Position Overview
Fontana Aquatics Club is seeking a passionate, energetic, and dedicated coach to join our close-knit coaching staff and supportive community. The successful candidate will work with several groups within our Age Group program, coaching swimmers ranging from beginners to elite-level athletes.
This position involves both on-deck coaching and administrative responsibilities that contribute to the continued growth and success of the program. A typical week includes approximately 12 hours of on-deck coaching and 2–4 hours of administrative duties, including practice planning, swimmer communication, meet preparation, and collaboration with the coaching staff.
The ideal candidate is enthusiastic about athlete development, values positive team culture, and is committed to helping swimmers grow both in and out of the water.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous coaching and/or competitive swimming experience at the club, high school, or collegiate level.
- Current USA Swimming coach certifications (or ability to obtain prior to employment).
- Passion for coaching and mentoring swimmers of all ages and ability levels.
- Strong communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Knowledge of current stroke technique, athlete development, and training methodologies.
- Positive, energetic, and professional attitude with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a coaching team while also taking initiative independently.
- Commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive, and athlete-centered team culture.
- Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and swim meets as required.
- Desire to continually learn, grow, and contribute to the long-term success of Fontana Aquatics Club.
