ISL’s DC Trident To Launch ‘Legend of the Trident’ Comic Book

The International Swimming League’s DC Trident franchise will release its own comic book, called Legend of the Trident, as part of its year one merchandise line.

The DC Trident franchise announced the comic book on social media last week:

“Packed with photos and information on the team and its members, along with the exclusive comic book story THE LEGEND OF THE TRIDENT, this is a collectible that inspires, entertains, and allows fans to relive the events of D.C. Trident’s first exciting season!” the announcement says.

The book will be created by comic book editor and writer Rantz Hoseley. We’re told it will be an original story, and that the book will also include photos and information about the team and its members. The book was actually inspired by one of the DC Trident roster members: butterflyer Zach Harting, a noted comic book aficionado who made headlines at the 2016 U.S. Olympic Trials for wearing a Batman mask and onesie on his walk to the blocks for the 200 fly final.

The Trident will also share all of its team revenue with its athletes, meaning the money made from the comic books should go directly to the DC Trident athletes. They’re running pre-sales of the book (and some other merchandise) on the team website here. The books should be shipped by the holidays.

The International Swimming League is set to begin this fall, featuring 8 inaugural franchises across Europe and the United States. You can find full rosters, updates and other news on our International Swimming League channel here.
