Hosszu, Van der Burgh Win 2015 FINA World Cup Series

Hungary’s Katinka Hosszu won her 5th consecutive FINA World Cup title, while Cameron van der Burgh topped defending champ and South African countryman Chad le Clos for the men’s win.

Hosszu put up 669 points, easily outdistancing the field and winning all three clusters with ease. She capped the tour with a 99-point performance in Dubai that included 3 golds and 5 silvers.

Van der Burgh took big advantage of le Clos’ absence through the second cluster, but still beat his teammate in points in both the first and third clusters. Van der Burgh put up 369 in total.

The winners each earn bonuses of $100,000, while second and third in each gender get $50,000 and $30,000, respectively. Le Clos was second for the men with Mitch Larkin riding a huge third cluster all the way to third place overall.

For the women, backstroke sensation Emily Seebohm took second and Hosszu’s Hungarian teammate Zsuszanna Jakabos was third with 201 points.
