Hansen, Litton, Snider Inducted into Iowa HS Swimming Hall of Fame

The Iowa High School Swim Coaches Association has inducted three into it’s Iowa High School Swim Coaches Hall of Fame.

Nick Hansen, formerly of Sioux City East; Ben Litton, formerly of Cedar Falls; and Jason Snider of West Des Moines Valley made up the class of 2014.

Nick Hansen will join his brother, recently resigned Arizona coach Eric Hansen, in the Hall of Fame; Eric was inducted in 1991.

Nick Hansen is the former head coach at the University of Wisconsin, and his daughter Brooke is a multiple-time Colorado High School State Champion.

Snider, a 2000 graduate, won four state titles as a senior at WDM Valley High, which makes him one of only four Iowa high school swimmers to accomplish that feat. As a senior, he won state crowns in the 200 IM, the 500 free, the 200 free relay, and the 400 free relay.

Litton, who graduated from Cedar Falls in 1998, was a four-time state champion, and during his senior year he set the State Record in the 100 yard backstroke.

Some would say his backstroke was a state record for unique style though. If I recall properly, used a breastroke kick.
