For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.

Evangelos Efraim Ntoumas from Greece has announced his commitment to continue his academic and athletic careers at Stanford beginning in fall 2026.

Ntoumas represents Greece at the international level and most recently swam at the 2025 World Junior Championships. There he swam to 4th in the 100 breaststroke, posting a 1:00.05 in finals. He notably posted a lifetime best 59.77 in semifinals, marking his first time under the 1-minute mark. He also swam to a best time of a 27.76 for 9th in the 50 breast during semifinals.

Earlier this summer, he was highlighted by a silver medal at the 2025 European Junior Championships. He posted a 1:00.18 in the 100 breast at the time.

Last summer, Ntoumas represented Greece at the 2024 Paris Olympics. He was a relay only swimmer and swam the breaststroke leg on men’s 4×100 medley relay. He split a 59.34, helping the relay to 13th.

Ntoumas’s Best LCM Times (With SCY Conversions):

  • 50 breast: 27.62 (23.98)
  • 100 breast: 59.77 (52.04)
  • 200 breast: 2:13.10 (1:56.30)

The Stanford men finished 2nd at the 2025 ACC Championships with 1065 points. It was the program’s first season in the ACC and they finished only behind fellow former Pac-12 team Cal as Cal scored 1271.5 points. Stanford went on to finish 8th at the 2025 NCAA Championships.

Based on his best converted times, Ntoumas has the potential to make an immediate impact upon his arrival. His best converted time in the 100 breast would already make the ACC ‘B’ final while his 200 breast is just off the 1:55.80 it took to earn a second swim.

Stanford had two ‘A’ finalists, one ‘B’ finalist, and one ‘C’ finalist in the 100 breast this past season to tally a total of 70 points in the event. That was their second highest scoring event at 2025 ACCs, only behind the 200 fly (87 points). It took a 51.58 to make 2025 NCAAs in the 100 breast, much faster than the 51.89 from 2024.

Ntoumas will arrive next fall as a member of the class of 2030 along with Tyler Phillips, Maxwell Stanislaus, and Enzo Desviat Ruiz.

Serious conversion issue.

:59.77 LCM to list as converting to :52.04.(which is in fact the result under the Classic Converter on your site)
:59.77 LCM on your Swimulator Conversion tool: is :50.05 (for age 19) and :51.94 for age 18.

:59.77 LCM is #25 in the world for ’25; of the 24 ahead of him, only four are NCAA eligible (McKean, Matheny, Savickas and Avakov); 5th at NCAA was :50.50.

I’m thinking :50.70 or so ought to be a pretty good estimation. Anyway a lot better than :52.04.

Anyway, congratulations on a good get, Stanford.,
