SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA, Friday, April 10th, 2015 – DJ Global Wave announces an exciting new partnership today with HARDCORESPORT, a woman-owned designer, marketer, manufacturer and distributor of premium swimsuits, water polo gear, activewear, apparel and accessories.

HARDCORESPORT was founded by Mia Andersen, a former swimmer at UC Irvine who also trained with the women’s water polo team. As CEO, she oversees brand and product development, marketing and partnerships. She was joined early on by Whitney Hentzen, a former All-American distance swimmer at USC, who today as COO leads manufacturing and production.

Global Wave and HARDCORE were introduced by 4x Olympian and Silver Medalist Tony Azevedo, who serves as Vice President/Partner and Brand ambassador for each company respectively. Says Azevedo, “This partnership really makes sense because at Global Wave we are trying to grow and innovate the sport of water polo, and Hard Core is one of the most current apparel companies on the market right now. I believe together we can really make a positive impact in the water polo world.”

The union between the two companies will begin as a one year deal to supply all gear for Global Wave’s Haba Waba North American event as well as for Global Wave Clinics, with the expectation to expand in the future. The Haba Waba North American Festival, to take place in Montreal on July 9-12, is slated to be the premier water polo event in 2015 for youth athletes in the world, making it an excellent locale to launch the partnership.

Andersen says, “As a company that manufactures all of its products in North America, HARDCORESPORT is thrilled to be partnering with Global Wave. We are dedicated to a common goal, to grow the sport of water polo. We will begin by exposing underserved areas to just how much fun this great game can be. Our sights are set high with these fresh demographics, these are the new frontiers, these are the future Olympians.”

Adds DJ Global Wave founder and CEO Dragan Jovanovic, “I consider HARDCORESPORT to be the most relevant swimwear company for the youth market out there today. They will deliver unique prizes to all Haba Waba North America and Global Camp of Champions participants. I believe this partnership will improve water polo with both quality products and forward-thinking ideas.”

HARDCORESPORT has a rapidly growing fan base, due to its high quality gear, knowledge of the sports market and grassroots-type sale events and distribution. Andersen and Hentzen both represent the company and sell gear at various water polo events across California and the greater USA. Keep an eye out for HARDCORE gear at the World University Games, an Olympic style event in July in South Korea sponsored by HARDCORE. They will also be sponsoring a three day open water tournament played at Shaver Lake this July where participants will camp at night next to the shore.
