WASHINGTON, D.C. – In the Pirates’ regular season finale, the Seton Hall men’s swim and dive team fell to Georgetown, 183.5-121.5, at McCarthy Pool.
Diving
On the one-meter board, Nick Graham continued his undefeated run against strong competition. The sophomore topped the table with a score of 294.75 at that height before narrowly finishing second on the three-meter with a score of 319.50.
Swimming
After the opening relay, the Pirates’ first win came in the 200 freestyle. Building off a dominant showing the prior day against Villanova, Kevin Cary once again won the event with a time of 1:37.19. Later in the meet, Cary went on to also win the 200 IM. After losing out on the opening butterfly leg, he pulled the gap back little by little and won the race to the wall with a time of 1:50.42.
As the meet wound down, the Pirates still had a few wins left to collect. The first of those wins of the day came from Michael Klimaszewski. The ascendant senior dominated his signature event, the 100 butterfly, winning the event by nearly two seconds with a time of 47.83. In addition to the win, he added a second-place finish in the 50 freestyle with a time of 20.49.
Despite the lower win count, the Pirates still put up a string of notable performances. Jack Callan and Clil Halevi each earned second-place finishes in the 500 and 1000 freestyles, respectively. Toma Adam added a third-place finish behind Cary in the 100 freestyle. Alongside them, Jake Karulf added his own third-place finish in the 200 butterfly.
To close out the meet, the battle shifted back to the relays with the 400 freestyle relay. Off the back of a blistering 44.55 opening leg by Klimaszewski, the lineup of him, Balint Marosi, Jaeger Ellerman and Adam secured first place with a time of 3:01.04
