EDITOR NOTE: Anchor Line Sports will beta test at the 2026 Summer Nationals. Anchor Line Sports will be live and open to the public for the 2026 Pan Pacific Championships.

July 14, 2026 (Carlsbad, CA) – Anchor Line Sports, the first sports betting data and analytics platform purpose-built for Olympic adjacent sports, today announced an exclusive partnership with ALT Sports Data, the leader in comprehensive sports betting data and fan engagement solutions for alternative and emerging sports. Under the agreement, ALT Sports Data will serve as the official and exclusive global betting data and distribution partner for Anchor Line Sports, delivering regulated, real-time odds, pricing, and data feeds for Olympic category sports to licensed sportsbook operators worldwide.

“An estimated $12B was wagered on the 2024 Paris Olympics, with no centralized betting hub. Sports betting is a proven fan engagement tool, instrumental in attracting and retaining fanbase. Sports compete for viewership, and sponsorship values scale according to reach. Money sports utilizing this valuable tool hold advantage. Anchor Line Sports aims to change that by equipping Olympic adjacent sport federations with the same tool.”

Gary Hall, Jr., CEO of Anchor Line Sports

Hall lost his home and swim school business in the Palisades Fire in January 2025. He also lost his 10 Olympic swimming medals. The International Olympic Committee replaced Hall’s medals in a special ceremony at IOC headquarters in Lausanne, Switzerland in May 2025.

“If successful, this will be my legacy contribution back to the sport and Olympic movement that shaped my life. It’s taken everything I have, every favor earned, and the resilient character forged by Olympic competition to get Anchor Line Sports to launch. This is my all-in.”

Anchor Line Sports now serves as the exclusive bridge between sports betting and Olympic category sports, offering international sport federations a regulated betting platform.

“Olympic sports have an incredibly passionate global audience and a statistical and technical depth that is ideal for sports betting. Splits measured in hundredths of a second, head-to-head matchups, rivalries, relay formats, and back-to-back finals across multiple disciplines in a single session. By combining Anchor Line’s deep expertise with ALT Sports Data’s trading platform and operator relationships, we are bringing a world-class betting product to a category that has never had one.”

-Todd Ballard, President and Chief Growth Officer, ALT Sports Data

Swimming is among the most globally recognized and participated disciplines in sport. With major championship events drawing hundreds of millions of viewers across the Olympic cycle with a dedicated, year-round fan base closely tracking sports data through world rankings, split times, and individual athlete performance. The sport presents a compelling and largely untapped betting opportunity. Despite global reach, no major sportsbook operator currently offers meaningful markets for elite competitive swimming. Together, Anchor Line Sports and ALT Sports Data deliver.

The announcement comes as Anchor Line Sports prepares for internal beta testing at the USA Swimming National Championships at the William Woollett Jr. Aquatics Center in Irvine, California, July 28–August 1, 2026. The meet serves as the primary selection event for the United States national team and draws the top American swimmers. Anchor Line Sports hopes to field play on the Pan Pacific Championships, also in Irvine, August 12–15, highlighting an escalating rivalry between the United States and Australia, making Southern California the center of elite competitive swimming as the LA28 Olympic Games approach.

Starting with the sport of swimming, Anchor Line Sports will expand to other Olympic themed sports in the lead up to the LA28 Olympics.

I’ll chime in, without expectations of changing anyone’s mind.

Whether you like it or not, sports betting is here. It’s legal, highly regulated and extremely popular. The data from already established professional sports is undeniable; Sports betting grows fanbase. Period. Full stop.

$12B was wagered at the Paris Olympics, with swimming and athletics volumes doubling over the previous Games. Bury our heads in the sand, or control it?

Cheating must be stopped, we agree. Integrity is our highest priority. I’m proud of a well-established history of speaking out against cheating in sport.

Many have expressed concerns over fixes. Let’s walk that through. AI data analysis flags anomalies in wagering volumes and performance (measured against historical data… Read more »

My favorite thing about people like Gary is that they think they can say “Period. Full stop.” and everyone has to stop and agree with them.

It’s straight out of the MAGA playbook.

I stopped after “Period. Full stop.” I lost interest. I full-stopped listening to what you had to say. So, I’m sorry that happened or congratulations.

This will be very hard to govern, and will not bring any more revenue to the sport.

Can’t understand the people who say “but this will bring money and a broader audience to our sport! It will make swimming matter outside the olympics/world champs!”

Is this really the kind of new audience you want to be attracting? is the success of swimming worth so much that you would want it to become a gambling hotspot for addicts?

I don’t think the sports gambling demographic is what you’re picturing in your head anymore.

Which isn’t to say I don’t agree with the concerns about the pressures that this puts on the sports and its participants. But painting a picture of scraggly dirty men lurking in the shadows of our natatoriums isn’t really the argument that moves me personally.

I am concerned about young people getting into sports betting in general. There are accounts where young people have lost thousands of dollars gambling on the mainstream professional sports. I don’t like the dynamic that creates in swimming.

I don’t think the same risks of infiltrating and affecting performance exist in swimming as it does in team sports. I also cannot imagine commercials during televised US Nationals or the like showing the spread of a certain race. I also don’t like the potential of our athletes getting threatened by the general public who lose money. Once you open the door to betting from the general public, you also open the door for unhappy people to attack our athletes in… Read more »

You know, the other day I was watching a swim meet with a bunch of money in my hand, and I thought to myself, “Man, I wish there were a quick and easy way to LOSE this money while watching swim races, and preferably in a compulsive and self-destructing way!”

BTW, what are the Polymarket odds on this article getting more than 100 comments? Is there a Kalshi pop-up ad somewhere that I can click on?!

How many events do we think will be swum before the first athletes are DM’d death threats for adding at finals?

Or imagine you rip a lifetime best on the biggest stage of your life to open your phone to violent threats because some degenerate put the mortgage on you finishing one spot higher…

Sure, betting might drive ‘fan’ engagement, but a not-insignificant subset of that is mired in toxicity. Not sure those are the ‘fans’ or the ‘engagement’ we want to help grow the sport.

Also… what if swimmers under 18 are competing? Is it even legal to bet on their outcomes? Or just profoundly unethical? Like there’s a reason you can’t bet on the LLWS for example, right?
