Futures Qualifier Megan Ehrnfeldt Commits to Drexel

Fitter and Faster Swim Camps is the proud sponsor of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all commitment news. For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.

Megan Ehrnfeldt from Leesport, Pennsylvania has announced her commitment to continue her academic and athletic careers at Drexel University beginning in the 2022-2023 school year.

I am beyond thrilled to announce I have decided to study and swim at Drexel University! I absolutely love the campus, team, and amazing coaching staff. I’m incredibly thankful to my parents, coaches, friends, and teammates who have helped me get to where I am today. I couldn’t be more excited to get started!! Go Dragons!

Ehrnfeldt swims for Boyertown Area YMCA out of Boyertown, PA. In March 2021, she earned numerous best times at YMCA Regionals. Those times included the 50 (24.24) and 100 (52.35) freestyles, 100 backstroke (56.18), 100 butterfly (56.03), and 200 IM (2:07.62). Those times give her Futures cuts in the 100 butterfly, 100 backstroke, and 200 IM.

She continued her success into the summer and earned many long course best times at the YMCA Festival. Those times included the 50 (27.03), 100 (58.94), and 200 (2:08.33) freestyles as well as the 100 butterfly (1:02.95). That 100 butterfly time is just off of the Winter Juniors cut which is a 1:02.69.

She is in the middle of her senior year at Schuylkill Valley High School.

Her best short course yards times are:

  • 100 butterfly: 56.03
  • 100 backstroke: 56.18
  • 200 IM: 2:07.62
  • 50 freestyle: 24.24
  • 100 freestyle: 52.35
  • 200 freestyle: 1:53.62

Drexel University is a private university located in Philadelphia, PA. The school is a member of the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA). At the 2021 CAA Championships, Drexel finished sixth out of six teams.

Based on her best times, Ehrnfeldt has the potential to make a huge impact for the team at the conference level. Her times would earn her spots in the ‘A’ final of the 100 butterfly and 100 backstroke as well as the ‘B’ final of the 200 IM. She also would have been the highest finisher for the team in the 100 butterfly, 200 IM, and 100 backstroke.

The team will have gaps to fill in next year as 12 out of 23 members of the roster this season are seniors. Ehrnfeldt will help fill in those gaps when she arrives on campus in fall 2022 as a member of the class of 2026 along with Delaney Leonard, Ali Bragg, Jessie Rothrock, and Hannah Carmen
