LANCASTER, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall’s men’s swimming team finished in first out of 10 teams with 1,490 points in their annual three-day invitational. Mary Washington finished in second with 1,412.5 points and Mount Saint Mary’s has 1,155 points to take third.

Additional Notes
DiBattista’s 53.23 in the 100-yard IM set the F&M Invitational record. Additionally, the 400-yard freestyle relay time of 3:01.88 is a record for the F&M Invitational.
Cole Winters-McCabe (17:23.58) and Andrew Canjura (17:25.06) finished eighth and 10th, respectively, in the 1,650-yard freestyle to give the Diplomats three top-10 finishes in the event.
In the 100-yard freestyle, Alex Sang (51.96), Brendan Cline (54.49), and Matthew Hopkins (47.03) took seventh, eighth, and 10th place finishes. F&M had four of the top 10 times in the 100-yard freestyle.
Cameron Mehta‘s 2:09.20 in the 200-yard breaststroke was good for fifth. The Diplomats finished with two swimmers in the top-five.
Ryan Lawlor went 1:55.96 and Jacob Nelson went 1:59.26, good for sixth and tenth, respectively, to total three top-10 finishes for F&M in the 200-yard Butterfly.

The Diplomats do not return to competition until Jan. 12 when F&M travels to Susquehanna for a 2:00 p.m. meet.

LANCASTER, Pa. – The No. 14 Washington and Lee women’s swimming team held its lead through the third and final day of the Franklin & Marshall Invitational on Sunday.
Highlights from the meet:
-The Generals scored 1,687.5 points to top the field, while Mary Washington (1,489), F&M (977.5), York (Pa.) (837.5) and Mount Saint Mary’s (694) rounded out the Top 5. Nazareth came in sixth with 685 points and Saint Vincent (643), Widener (461), Ramapo (N.J.) (451), Kutztown (304) and Montclair State (297.5) completed the field of 11 teams.
-W&L capped off the meet with three wins across individual races and relays, while logging seven top-three efforts and 12 top-five performances. For the day, 12 different swimmers claimed top-eight finishes in individual events.
-Seniors Emily Hageboeck (Charleston, W.Va. / George Washington) and Laura Bruce (New Orleans, La. / Academy of the Sacred Heart) won the 200 breast (2:19.55) and 200 fly (2:07.86), respectively, while Bruce helped the 400 free relay (3:37.99) to a sixth-place finish by swimming the opening leg.
-Seniors Mattie Grant (Mechanicsville, Va. / Hanover) and Ali MacQueen (Memphis, Tenn. / St. Mary’s Episcopal School) placed second in the 1650 free (17:48.60) and 100 free (51.88) and MacQueen helped the 400 free relay (3:31.22) to a win as well. First-year Sara Gaston (Mechanicsville, Va. / Lee-Davis) added a runner-up finish in the 200 back (2:07.04) and first-year Sally Ennis (Richmond, Va. / Collegiate School) placed third in the 200 back (2:07.18) to round out the top-three performers.
