Theodora Taylor lowered her own Welsh record to finish 4th in the women’s 100 free final tonight in a time of 54.00. She sliced 0.14 seconds off the previous standard of 54.14 which she set on the leadoff of the women’s 4×100 free relay on day 1.
Taylor was 5th at the halfway point in 26.09, slightly slower than the 26.02 she opened in three days ago. She was two tenths faster on the second, closing sub-28 in 27.91.

Taylor owns the 21 fastest swims in Welsh history. Medi Harris ranks second with a 55.09, while Taylor has 20 54-second swims, all of them since April 2025.
She also now ranks 8th in the all-time British rankings, moving up two spots. She ranked 10th in 54.20 before this meet, remained in 10th after initially lowering her record to 54.14, then jumping above Freya Colbert and Amy Roebuck tonight.

Taylor’s record tonight comes two days after splitting 52.63 on the mixed 4×100 free relay. That is her fastest split by eight tenths of a second, and ranks her fifth all-time among junior performers. She will be part of the women’s 4×100 free relay team at the European Championships in two weeks’ time, and will swim the 50 free individually.
This record marks Wales’ fifth of the meet. Taylor has lowered the 100 free mark twice, the women’s 4×100 free relay set a new record of 3:39.81 to finish 5th, the men’s 4×200 free relay clocked 7:09.59 for bronze and a new national mark, and the mixed 4×100 free relay also won bronze with a Welsh record of 3:24.33.
Taylor owns three individual Welsh records, setting new national standards in the 50 free (24.72), 100 free (54.00), and 200 IM (2:13.35) so far this season.
