European Junior Championships Finalist Amalie Mortensen Commits to Arizona

Fitter and Faster Swim Clinics is the proud sponsor of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all commitment news. For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.

Danish swimmer Amalie Mortensen has signed a National Letter of Intent to swim for the University of Arizona, beginning in the fall of 2020.

Mortensen represented Denmark internationally at the 2016, 2017, and 2018 European Junior Swimming Championships. She had her best finish in 2016, when she made the final of the women’s 100 free and placed 8th. A year later, in 2017,  she qualified for the semi-finals of the 100 free and finished 15th, and in her final championship in 2018, she finished 31st in that same event.

Most of her long course best times are from 2017 or earlier, but she’s shown big improvements in 2019 in short course meters.
