Denver’s Bunch, Roas Named Summit League Swimmers of the Week

ELMHURST, Ill. – Denver’s Dylan Bunch was named Summit League Men’s Swimmer of the Week while teammate Johanna Roas earned Women’s Swimmer of the Week award for their performances during the week of Nov. 2-8.

DYLAN BUNCH, DENVER
Sr.  // Boulder City, Nev.

  • Named Summit League Swimmer of the Week for the first time this season and seventh time in his career
  • His seven weekly awards extends his league career record
  • In two meets during the week, Bunch earned first-place finishes in all four events he swam (100 Free, 200 Free, 500 Free and 1,000 Free) 
  • The senior’s time in the 1,000 Free ranks third nationally this season and is best in the league by more than 20 seconds
  • His four first-place finishes helped propel Denver to two team meet victories

Also nominated: Jared Thorson, South Dakota; JD Furr, Western Illinois; Steve Fishman, Eastern Illinios.

Previous honorees: Oct. 13 – Hunter Padgett, South Dakota; Oct. 20 – Wyatt Rumrill, South Dakota State; Oct. 27 – Ray Bornman, Denver; Nov. 3 – Lennart Kuester, IUPUI.

JOHANNA ROAS, DENVER
Jr. // Munich, Germany

  • Earned her second Summit League Swimmer of the Week this season and the fourth of her career
  • Roas helped lead the Pioneers to a meet win over Air Force with two individual victories and two relay victories
  • Her time in the 100 Back (55.40) is best in the league this season while her time in the 200 Back (2:01.26) is good for second
  • Junior was a part of two winning relay teams (200 Medley, 200 Free)

Also nominated: Sam Schutt, South Dakota; Lizzie Hollopeter, Western Illinois; Kaylee Morris, Eastern Illinois.
