NEWARK, Del. – University of Delaware women’s swimming and diving program captured its first Atlantic Sun Conference dual meet victory against Old Dominion on Saturday at the Rawstrom Natatorium. The Fightin’ Blue Hens outscored the Monarchs 240.00-54.00.

“We are very excited to get our first ASUN competition under our belt,” head coach Pablo Marmolejo said. “The Hens competed really well and stepped up after a few hard weeks of training. We are looking forward to our next sets of dual meets this fall.”
HEN HIGHLIGHTS
- Two different Blue Hens won their first collegiate events. Elisa Spera (1000-free, 400-IM), and Piper Price (100-breast) picked up victories.
- This is the largest margin of victory for the women’s squad since they took down Rider on November 11, 2022 at the La Salle Invite 244.00-46.00.
RESULTS
- Delaware placed first in all 16 events on the day.
The following athletes finished in first place in their respective events:
- Angi Ragazzoni, Antaki, Victoria Novinksiy, and Olivia Willemsen started things off for the Hens, winning the 400-medley relay at 3:50.25.
- Spera won both of her races; the 1000-free and the 400-IM.
- Lauren Hartel took the 200-free at 1:53.06, with three more Hens coming in second, third, and fourth. She also recorded a win in the 500-free at 5:04.42
- Ragazzoni also won the 100-back and 200-back, at 57.48 and 2:04.03, respectively.
- Price picked up her victory in the 100-breast at 1:06.64.
- Novinskiy won the 200-fly at 2:02.96 and the 100-fly at 55.81.
- Willemsen took the 50-free at 24.31 and the 100-free at 52:47.
- Keira Allison recorded a 268.05 in the 3-meter dive.
- Marisa Schekenberger won the 200-breast at 2:22.89.
- Alex Pastris scored a 271.50 in the 1-meter dive.
- Wrapping up the event, Hartel, Novinskiy, Ragazzoni, and Judy Liu won the 400-free relay at 3:30.10.
UP NEXT
The Blue Hens remain home for their next dual meet on October 18. They will take on West Virginia University, the alma mater of Marmolejo and assistant coach Ross Glegg.

- Three different Blue Hens won their first collegiate events. All four did it in their first event of the day. Cody Lonsberry (1000 free), Will D’Orazio (200 fly), and Emanuel Pitts (1M dive) picked up those victories.
RESULTS
- Delaware placed first in 12 of the 16 events, including the first six races of the day.
The following athletes finished in first place in their respective events:
- Pitts recorded the eighth-highest score in the 1M dive in program history, scoring 272.03.
- The quartet of Kaloyan Levterov, Matvei Namakonov, Kade Snyder, and Addison Collins brought home the 400-medley relay at 3:19.70.
- Lonsberry at 9:42.84 in the 1000-free.
- A. Collins in the 200-free (1:41.49)
- Snyder at 51:12 in the 100-back and 50:22 in the 100-fly.
- Malcolm Collins in the 100-breast (57.18).
- D’Orazio took the 200-fly at 1:51.66.
- Denys Mialkovskyi in the 200-back (1:52.96).
- Pitts also registered a 265.88 score in the 3M dive.
- Dylan Smolders grabbed the 400-IM at 4:03.56.
- James Haney, Brady Robidas, A. Collins, and Namakonov finished the day off winning the 400-free relay at 3:03.18.

NEWARK, Del. – Old Dominion junior swimmer Zach Redding won a pair of events, while Grey Bremer and Bryce Mortimer earned wins to lead the Monarchs on Saturday afternoon at Delaware. The Blue Hens won the women’s meet 240-54, and came out on top against the men, 201-83.
ODU opened the meet with a third place finish in the 400 medley relay as the team of Addie Elliot, Adrienne Rinker, Lauren Masters and Arielle Garbowski finished in a time of 4:00.42.
The men’s 400 medley relay team of Lucas Abd, Bryce Mortimer, Dawson Truong and Zach Redding placed second in 3:35.11.
Gabriella Gonzalez finished third in the 1000 free with a time of 10:47.57.
Grey Bremer took third in the men’s 200 freestyle with a time of 1:43.30.
In the 100 backstroke, Elliot placed third in 58.51.
Jadyn Whitt and Rinker finished two-three in the 100 breaststroke. Whitt earned a time of 1:07.64, while Rinker came in 1:07.77. Rinker added another third-place spot with a finish of 2:31.80 in the 200 breaststroke.
Truong followed in the men’s 100 breaststroke with a time of 58.38 to place third.
A native of Delaware, Redding won the men’s 50 freestyle with a time of 20.25 and doubled up with a win in the 100 free with a time of 44.79.
The Monarchs continued to add on points in the 200 backstroke as Linnea Kallebo finished third in a time of 2:08.70, while Sean Lingafelt took third in the 200 backstroke in a time of 1:57.88.
Mortimer notched the win in the men’s 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:04.92.
Bremer recorded back-to-back wins for the Monarchs with a triumph in the 500 free with a time of 4:41.27.
Mia Bailon finished third in the 100 butterfly with a time of 58.73, while Truong took second in the men’s 100 butterfly with a time of 50.65.
The 400 IM saw Abd finish third with a time of 4:13.13.
The final event of the day was the 400 freestyle relay as the women’s squad of Ally Hilbrich, Whitt, Bailon and Kristilynn Mosley finished third in 3:43.71.
The men’s 400 free relay team of Bremer, Nick Chierico, Nick Martin and Jordan Davis took fourth with a time of 3:12.10.
The Monarchs return to Norfolk for their home opener on Friday, Oct. 17 against Gardner-Webb at 4:30 p.m.
