Dalton Shaw Verbally Commits to North Carolina

The North Carolina men, who already have a very young team, continue to load up on more-and-talent this fall, with the latest being a verbal commitment from Dalton Shaw of East Carolina Aquatics.

Shaw is a versatile middle-distance swimmer; in the 200 free, he’s been 1:39.26, in the 200 fly, he’s been 1:51.15, and in the 200 IM he’s been 1:50.39 in yards.

Shaw’s addition will be important especially in the 800 free relay, given that this is one of the few areas where the Tar Heels are really going to be hit hard by graduations after this year (JT Stilley, Brad Dillon). Given what UNC has done with their 200 butterfliers, one would imagine that he’s really going to see a lot of improvement there if that’s the direction that he’s trained toward.
