The 2025 Dutch Qualifiers competition wrapped up over the weekend with the nation’s swimmers vying for slots on this year’s Short Course European Championships roster.
Additional qualifications were seen on Sunday, the final day of action, as Marte Hieke van der Kamp accomplished the feat en route to winning the women’s 1500m freestyle.
Van der Kamp stopped the clock at a time of 16:02.92 to easily clear the qualification standard of 16:15.27 needed for Lublin, Poland this December.
She was joind by runner-up Hedwig Bolt who notched a silver medal-worthy effort of 16:17.89, clearing the threshold for 23-and-under swimmers.
Two-time Olympic silver medalist Arno Kamminga added the 200m breast to his lineup of events for SC Euros. The 30-year-old turned in a time of 2:04.05 to beat the field by well over 2 seconds.
Noah De Schryver was next to the wall in 2:06.56, just off the QT of 2:06.23 while Ivo Kroes hit 2:07.45 as the bronze medalist. Fourth-place finisher Luca Janssen made the SC Euros grade with his time of 2:07.72, good enough to beat the 23-and-under selection standard.
Milou van Wijk got it done for silver in the women’s 200m free, with her outing of 1:56.28 touching behind winner Freya Anderson of Great Britain.
Anderson clocked 1:55.24 while Imani de Jong rounded out the podium in 1:56.62.
Finally, Brandon van den Berg and Tessa Giele each earned gold in their respective men’s and women’s 100m IM events.
The former logged 52.88 while the latter produced 58.75 as the sole swimmer to delve under the 1:00 threshold.
When all was said and done, swimmers who qualified at the Dutch Qualifiers were mashed with those racing at the World Aquatics Swimming World Cup competitions to churn out the final roster for December’s SC Euros.

Just kind of a rant here, what does the US need to do to get Casper and Ilya Karun to compete for the US. Both were raised there entire childhood and college in the US and yet both are now competing for places they have not truly lived long term.
Im assuming this is primarily a financial situation, that they are both compensated better by their home countries. That being said USA swimming or somebody needs to come in and figure what we need to do to get them to compete for the country they probably identify more with?
Let me know if I’m wrong here but with the state of our men’s team currently it seems crazy that… Read more »
Well for one, Kharun isn’t a US citizen. And Corbeau presumably made the choice to swim for the Netherlands because it’s a much easier path to compete internationally than swimming for the US. He would need to talk a year off if he wanted to change nationalities
Kharun is a US Citizen. https://swimswam.com/ilya-kharun-becomes-u-s-citizen-still-plans-to-race-for-team-canada-moving-forward/
How about just letting people choose who to represent lol
