Columbia Men Take On Mayaguez, Puerto Rico (Training Trip Video)

Video courtesy Stanley Wong.

The men of Columbia flew from their home New York City  to Mayaguez, Puerto Rico for some training over winter break. Their video (perhaps the only one we’ve published so far to feature a cow) is equal parts work and play, showcasing the Lions pumping out pool and dryland sets, blowing ring bubbles, drinking water from wild coconuts, and playing in the surf.

The video, set to “Chainsmokers” by Roses, was filmed by Alex Ngan and Stanley Wong and produced by Wong.

Their training must have paid off; the Lions came back from break to take their first three wins of the season, the first against Cornell, 164.5 to 135.5; the second versus Bucknell, 183 to 115; and the third facing Brown, 166 to 134 (see our recap here).

Before championship season, the Columbia men will take on the U.S. Naval Academy (8-1) on January 29th, Princeton (5-0) on February 5th, and Dartmouth (0-4) on February 7th. The team will then compete at Ivy League Championships February 25th through February 27th and Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) Championships February 26th through the 28th.
