Coach’s Intel: Hubert Williams of Sailfish Aquatics Shares a Set to Help Close IM Races

In this afternoon’s Coach’s Intel, CEO and Head Coach Hubert Williams of Sailfish Aquatics submits a swimming workout that his athletes did last week. Sailfish Aquatics, founded in 2011, is based out of Cabarrus County, North Carolina. Here is the workout:

Here is a version of an IM set that we did on October 21st (hence the 21 repeats). I use several versions of this set, but this is designed for IM training with an emphasis on finishing the 400 or 200 IM.

21 x 25  7 fly/7bk/7br  @ :40

21 x 50 Indy IM @ :50

21 x 75  25 fly/50 back, 25 back/50 br, 25 br/50 FR   @ 1:15

21 x 100

7 Pull @ 1:20

7 build by 25 1:20

7 fast 1:45..last 3 on 2:00

Note: Indy IM, for those not familiar, is 25 fly/25 back, 25 back/25 breast. 25 breast/25 fr. Three 50s complete a round.
