CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Cleveland State University men’s and women’s swimming & diving teams continue a busy week by hitting the road for multiple duals this weekend.

The CSU men will face host UIC in separate dual meets Friday, Jan. 10, and Saturday, Jan. 11. On the women’s side, the Vikings will be swimming against both the host Flames and IUPUI in tri-dual competition.

Team scores will not carry over from Friday to Saturday. A full schedule of events for each day is listed below.

Both Viking programs are coming off setbacks to Miami (Ohio) in their home-opening dual earlier this week.

Sophomore Jack Krusinski led the way for CSU by winning three individual events against the RedHawks—100 breast, 200 breast and 200 IM—and swimming on the winning 400 medley relay. On the women’s side, freshman Emma Kerro swept the diving competition, winning on both the 1-meter and 3-meter boards.

The Viking women lost two duals to IUPUI on the road last season after beating the Jaguars twice at home two years ago.

The IUPUI women own a 1-2 mark in dual action and will be competing for the first time in over a month. The Jags took down Western Illinois while suffering setbacks to Indianapolis and Cincinnati. IUPUI finished in seventh place of 10 teams at their midseason invitational.

The CSU men split a pair of duals last season with UIC while the Viking women lost twice to the Flames, but only by a combined 30 points. The Viking men have won duals against UIC in 16 of the past 18 seasons.

Both UIC squads will be competing for the first time in over a month as well. The UIC men are 1-3 in dual action with a win over Milwaukee and losses to Northwestern, Michigan State and Oakland. The UIC women are 1-4 with identical results as the men, except for a loss to Illinois.

Cleveland State will be off from competition next weekend before contesting a pair of duals in Michigan on the final weekend of the month.

Lord have mercy. Cleveland State doesn’t want this HEAT! Go Flames til the end of the world BABY. Coach Tim has a PACK of HUNGRY WOLVES that will not stop until their stomachs are full. And you can bring that to the bank!

Hey man I’m gonna have to agree with Hey Eric, Tim is coaching some savage beasts who will take the horizon league this year, and you can take that to the bank. A lot of hate on Hey Eric’s comment but success doesn’t come without a couple of haters!
