2026 Kentucky High School Athletic Association State Swimming and Diving Championships
It was more domination for Charlotte Crush and the Sacred Heart girls’ team at the Kentucky High School Athletic Association State Swimming and Diving Championships, while St. Xavier extended its historic streak on the boys’ side..
Committed to Tennessee, Crush made it eight individual state championships in her career, winning her fourth straight title in both the 100 fly and 100 back.
Behind Crush, the Sacred Heart girls’ team won its 14th straight state championship and 37th in school history.
In the boys’ competition, St. Xavier extended its dynasty, winning a 38th straight state title.
Girls’ Recap
Crush captured the 100 fly and 100 back in exact times of 51.05, Last year, Crush set state records in both events, clocking a time of 50.88 in the 100 fly and 49.46 in the 100 free. Crush was also a part of two winning relay teams for Sacred Heart.
Crush first swam leadoff for Sacred Heart’s team that won the 200 medley relay in 1:42.21. The team was comprised of Crush (24.03), Sydney Green (29.02), Ava Grazziani (24.78) and Madeline Peyton (24.38).
In the 400 free relay, Crush swam a leadoff split of 48.23 to help Sacred Heart win in 3:27.90. Other team members were Maddie Flowers (51.99), Anna Thorp (53.57) and Green (54.11).
In addition to Crush, Lafayette junior Lauren Wedeking won two events. Committed to Akron, Wedeking won the 200 free in a personal best of 1:48.43, improving on a 6th-place finish from last year. She later won the 100 free in a personal best of 50.66.
Other event winners were:
- Christian Academy senior Kate Braeger, a Stanford commit, repeated as champion in the 200 IM with a time of 2:00.12.
- Kennedy Brooks, a freshman from Paul Dunbar, won the 50 free in a personal best of 23.37.
- Ballard junior Fiona Sheehan won 1-meter diving with a score of 552.15.
- Clare Herfel, a sophomore from Notre Dame Academy, won the 500 free in 4:51.44.
- In the 200 free relay, Sacred Heart’s team of Greta Kahler (24.97), Flowers (24.49), Madeline Garrison (24.81) and Payton (24.16) won in 1:38.43.
- Sydney Green, a senior from Sacred Heart and Vanderbilt commit, won the 100 breast in 1:03.92 after finishing 3rd last year.

Boys’ Recap
St. Xavier swept the three relays and got a great individual performance from sophomore Wilson York, who was on one of those winning relay teams and captured two individual events.
York won the 200 IM in 1:47.29, and then took the 100 breast in a personal best time of 54.29. York was 2nd in both events last year.
York split 24.88 on breast for St. Xavier’s 200 medley relay team, which won in 1:30.00. Other team members were Quinn Moter (23.47), Boone Wilcox (21.39) and Bishop DeZarn (20.26).
The other individuals to win multiple events were Ryle senior Chase Knopf and Louisville Collegiate senior Lincoln Hofmann.
Committed to Louisville, Knopf won the 200 free in a personal best of 1:37.76, and then won the 500 free in a personal best of 4:24.97 after finishing 2nd in the event last year.
A Pitt commit, Hofmann won the 100 free in a personal best of 43.67 and then won the 100 back in 48.34 after taking 3rd in the event last year.
Other event winners were:
- Boyle County senior Clark Coyle, a Texas A&M commit, won the 50 free in 20.65 after finishing 4th last year.
- Graham Leslie of Lexington Catholic won 1-meter diving with a score of 724.30.
- Wilcox, a junior who has committed to Michigan, won the 100 fly in 47.71 to improve on a 2nd-place finish last year.
- The 200 free relay was won by St. Xavier’s team of Blaise Harrison (21.92), Owen Durham (21.05), Carter Rankin (20.65) and Bishop DeZarn (20.36) in 1:23.98.
- In the 400 free relay, St. Xavier’s squad of Wilcox (45.81), Rankin (45.66), Durham (46.42), and Peyton Harrison (45.77) won in a time of 3:03.66.
