Central Connecticut Swimming and Diving Ink 5 For Fall 2015

The Central Connecticut women’s swimming and diving team has announced the addition of five student-athletes that will be incoming freshman in the Fall of 2015. All five individuals committed to the Blue Devils with a National Letter of Intent during the early signing period.

The CCSU swimming and diving Class of 2019 will include Kailey Demers (Stafford Springs, CT), Aiden Devers (North Attleboro, MA), Mollie Coleman (Trumbull, CT), Kaitlyn Troy (Montgomery, NY) and Grace Moriarty (Noank, CT).

“We are super excited to add this extremely talented group of young women,” said head coach Bill Ball on the commits. “This group covers all four strokes with times that already can final at the conference meet keeping Central in the mix for a top three finish at the Northeast Conference Championship for the next several years.”

Here is a more detailed look at each student-athlete:

Kailey Demers
Stafford Springs, CT
East Catholic HS/Laurel East Hartford YMCA

Demers is a breaststroker from Stafford Springs who was a Connecticut State Finalist and all-state performer in 2014. Kailey also was a YMCA National Qualifier and she will help strengthen an already very strong breaststroke group at CCSU.

Aidan Devers
North Attleboro, MA
North Attleboro HS/Adirondack Aquatic Club

Devers, from North Attleboro, primarily swims the back and freestyle strokes. She was a NCSA Junior National qualifier in 2014. Aidan is very versatile and has the skills to final in multiple events at the conference finals for CCSU. She will cover many needs as well as add great strength to already strong events for Central.

Mollie Coleman
Trumbull, CT
Trumbull HS/SoNoCo Swim Club

Coleman comes to CCSU from Trumbull High School and will significantly impact the butterfly and IM events at the conference championships for the Blue Devils. Mollie was also a Connecticut State Finalist and all-state performer in 2014.

Kaitlyn Troy
Montgomery, NY
Valley Central HS/Newburgh Sharks

A Montgomery, NY native, Troy joins the Blue Devils and will primarily perform the back and freestyle strokes for CCSU. Kaitlyn is a multi-time New York High School Section IX Champion and she was named the 2013 Section IX Swimmer of the Year. Troy will make a significant impact in the backstroke and freestyle events at the conference championships for the Blue Devils as well as on Central relay teams.

Grace Moriarty
Noank, CT
Fitch HS/Nutmeg Aquatics

Moriarty hails from Noank and here primary stroke is the butterfly. Grace was a Connecticut high school state finalist in 2014. Noank is versatile and possesses a wealth of ability and will impact the CCSU swimming and diving program positively in a number of different aspects.
