Yi Zheng of Carmel Swim Club swam to the #7 boys 400 IM all-time in the 15-16 age group. Zheng touched in a 4:18.55. That dropped exactly two seconds off his best time that he entered the meet with as he swam a 4:20.55 at US Summer Nationals at the start of June. That swim had previously sat him at #20 all-time.

Zheng has made huge progress in the event in the last year dropping over 10 seconds. His best time coming into the season was a 4:28.91 that he swam at the end of July 2024 at Futures in Huntsville. He swam a 4:22.21 in March before dropping to his previous best 4:20.55 last month.

The 16 year old will join the 17-18 age group by the time the end of next summer rolls around but he already would sit at #29 all-time in the 17-18 age group as well.
