Canada Wins Mixed World Diving Series Golds at Home in Montreal

Canada and Malaysia broke China’s dominance this weekend in Montreal, Canada, the host of the penultimate leg of the FINA/CNSG Diving World Series 2018 held from April 27-29.

The home team pocketed gold in the 3m and 10m mixed events. Jennifer Abel and Francois Imbeau-Dulac secured the 3m gold with 325.20, while Meaghan Benfeito and Nathan Zsombor-Murray were the best synchronised pair in the 10m (322.08).

Malaysia’s Pandelela Pamg/Jun Hoong Cheong took the women’s 10m gold with 322.74 points.

Team China bagged all other gold medals at stake. Cao Yuan (531.20) and Qiu Bo (568.15) respectively won the springboard and platform events, while teammates Xie Siyi (529.30) and Yang Jian (551.40) secured the silver medals of the same events.

In the women’s competition, the gold and silver medals of the individual events were claimed by Chinese divers too. In the springboard, Shi Tingmao (381.95)/ Wang Han (376.10) and Wang Han (376.10)/Si Yajie (377.65) proved too strong for the Canadian divers who placed third.
