California Backstroker Jessica Pentlarge Verbally Commits to Nebraska

Jessica Pentlarge of San Diego, California has verbally committed to swim at the University of Nebraska, Lincoln for 2017-18.

“I am beyond excited to announce my verbal commitment to Nebraska because I know that with the outstanding academics, the support of the amazing coaches, and the camaraderie of the team, I will have an unforgettable and successful college experience.”

Pentlarge is a senior at Cathedral Catholic High School in San Diego. At the 2016 CIF-San Diego Section Division II Championships in May she won the 100 free (50.90) and placed second in the 100 back (56.95). She has been named to the All-CIF team for the past 3 years and holds the San Diego Imperial County record in the 200 backstroke.

Pentlarge swims year-round for North Coast Aquatics. She wrapped up her long course season at Stanford Futures with finals swims in the 50 free (10th), 200 free (10th), 100 back (24th), and 200 back (9th).

  • 200 back: 2:01.42
  • 50 free: 23.94
  • 100 free: 50.90
  • 200 free: 1:50.53

Pentlarge will join the Nebraska class of 2021 along with fellow-recruits Autumn Haebig, Clara Walstad, and Rachel Powers.
