Burnett Finishes Third In Platform Dive On Final Day Of Georgia Diving Invite

Junior diver Devin Burnett finished third in the platform dive as he posted a score of 363.10 on the third and final day of the Georgia Diving Invite in Athens, Ga.

In addition, junior Hayden Hodges and sophomore Parker Meinecke placed 17th (250.75) and 18th (241.30) in the platform dive, respectively.

“All three of them dove really well today,” head diving coach Jim Stillson said. “They really stepped and competed well through tough conditions.”

SMU gets its full team back together to compete in a dual meet at LSU on Jan. 9 in Baton Rouge, La. Following the dual meet with the Tigers, the Mustangs will host the SMU Classic from Jan. 17-18 in the Perkins Natatorium.

DIVING RESULTS

Freshman Lauren Lamb registered a 145.08 in the platform dive on the final day of the Georgia Diving Invite on Sunday afternoon.

Lamb finished the three-day event by adding her platform performance to a 201.15 in three-meter and a 191.40 in one-meter. Earlier this season, Lamb placed ninth and scored for the Mustangs in the platform event at the Texas A&M Invite, posting a 163.75.

The entire SMU swimming and diving team is back in action on Jan. 11 when it travels to College Station, Texas, to take on the No. 2 Texas A&M Aggies at 1 p.m. CT. Check SMUMustangs.com for ways to follow the event.
