Boston University Picks Up Verbal Commitment from Megan Wimmer

Megan Wimmer of Munster, Indiana has verbally committed to swim for Boston University in the fall. Wimmer is a sprinter who swims for Munster Swim Club and Munster High School. At the 2016 IHSAA Girls Swimming/Diving Championship last winter, Wimmer finished 22nd in the 50 free (24.20) and 17th in the 100 free (52.46). She also led off both Munster’s free relays, going 24.53 on the Mustangs’ 13th-place 200 free relay and 52.91 on their 400 free relay. In prelims she had anchored the 4×50 in 23.82 and gone 52.12 on the third leg of the 4×100.

In club swimming Wimmer competed in the 50/100/200 free, 100 back and 100 fly at the 2016 Indiana Spring Senior State Championships, finaling in the 50 free and 100 back. She closed out the long course season at the 2016 Indiana Senior Long Course State Championships.

Her top SCY times include:

  • 50 free – 24.12
  • 100 free – 52.29
  • 200 free – 1:54.72
  • 100 back – 59.28
  • 200 back – 2:17.91
